Five pools fed straight out of the ground, hot enough that the top one usually sits empty because almost nobody can stand in it. The three main pools are graded by temperature, so you start in the warm one and work your way up as far as you can take. There is a shallow pool for kids and a separate pool for women. Majlis Daerah Baling has run the place since 1998, so it is a proper set-up with a food court, surau, playground and chalets rather than a hole in the jungle. It is open 24 hours, and night is when to come. Steam lifting off the water, cool air, and a fraction of the weekend afternoon crowd.
